
Creamy Rice Pudding with Condensed Milk and Powdered Milk
This creamy rice pudding with condensed milk and powdered milk is a simple, budget-friendly and very tasty dessert to make at home. The rice is sautéed in butter to help the grains stay looser, cooked with water and then combined with sweetened condensed milk, cream and powdered milk, creating a very creamy texture. To finish, powdered milk sifted on top gives it a pretty presentation and an even richer flavor.
Equipment
- pan For sautéing the rice, cooking it and preparing the cream.
- spoon For stirring the rice and incorporating the ingredients.
- lid For covering the pan during cooking.
- Serving dish For placing the finished rice pudding.
- sieve For dusting the powdered milk evenly.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup rice
- water to cover the rice
- 400 g sweetened condensed milk
- 400 g cream
- 1 cup powdered milk
- powdered milk for dusting
Instructions
- Place the butter in a pan and heat until completely melted.
- Add the rice and sauté very well in the butter, stirring to coat all the grains.
- Add enough water to cover the rice.
- Cover the pan and cook until the water dries.
- When the water dries, lower the heat to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk to the cooked rice and mix very well.
- Add the cream and mix again until very creamy.
- Cover the pan and cook for 7 minutes over low heat.
- Add the powdered milk and mix very well until the texture changes and becomes even creamier.
- Turn off the heat as soon as the rice pudding is creamy and reaches the desired consistency.
- Transfer the rice pudding to a serving dish.
- Using a sieve, dust powdered milk on top to finish evenly.
- Serve in portions and enjoy hot, warm or chilled.

Sauté the rice well in butter before adding the water to help the grains stay looser. After the water dries, keep the heat low to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pan. Stir constantly after adding the condensed milk, cream and powdered milk, as the dessert becomes creamy quickly. Turn off the heat as soon as it reaches the desired consistency. Serve hot, warm or chilled.
