This gratin chicken with shredded potatoes and cheese cream is a delicious, creamy recipe perfect for a family lunch. Ingredients
  

  • 3 pieces chicken breasts cut and lightly pounded
  • salt to taste for seasoning the chicken
  • black pepper to taste for seasoning the chicken
  • olive oil for greasing the baking dish
  • 5 pieces shredded potatoes
  • 1 piece onion cut into rings
  • salt to taste for seasoning the potatoes and onion
  • black pepper to taste for seasoning the potatoes and onion
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 200 g cream cheese spread
  • 200 g grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Cut the chicken breasts, lightly pound them to even them out and place them on a surface or plate.
  • Season one side of the chicken with salt and black pepper, spreading it well.
  • Turn the chicken pieces over and season the other side with salt and black pepper.
  • Grease a baking dish with olive oil, spreading it well over the bottom.
  • Place the shredded potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish and spread them evenly.
  • Distribute the onion rings over the potatoes.
  • Season the potato and onion layer with a little salt and black pepper.
  • Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts over the potatoes and onion.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a bowl, add the mayonnaise, mustard, cream cheese spread and part of the grated mozzarella.
  • Mix very well and add the remaining mozzarella, stirring until a creamy topping forms.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven after the first 20 minutes.
  • Spread all the creamy mixture over the chicken, covering it well.
  • Return to the oven at 200 degrees for another 20 minutes, until gratinated and golden.
  • Remove from the oven, cut a portion and serve hot.

Lightly pound the chicken breasts so they become more even and bake uniformly. Season the potatoes and onion as well, since they form the base of the dish and absorb the flavor of the chicken. Spread the creamy topping well so it gratins evenly. Oven time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken; if needed, bake a few more minutes until well browned and fully cooked.
