This baked bread snack with eggs, ham and cheese is a quick, creamy and delicious recipe for an afternoon snack or simple dinner. The eggs are seasoned with salt, black pepper and oregano, mixed with mozzarella, cream cheese spread and ham, then topped with crustless sandwich bread brushed with butter and oregano. Once baked, it becomes golden and crispy on top while staying creamy and filled inside.

Ingredientes
  

  • 6 pieces eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • butter for greasing
  • 150 g grated mozzarella cheese
  • 200 g cream cheese spread
  • 100 g ham cut into small pieces
  • 6 slices crustless sandwich bread
  • melted butter for brushing
  • oregano to taste for mixing into the butter

Modo de preparo
 

  • Place the eggs in a buttered bowl or baking dish.
  • Season with salt, black pepper and oregano.
  • Beat the eggs well with a fork until the seasonings are mixed in.
  • Add the grated mozzarella over the eggs.
  • Add the cream cheese spread.
  • Mix with the fork, lightly beating, until the cream cheese is well incorporated into the eggs and cheese.
  • Add the ham cut into small pieces and spread it through the filling.
  • Cover the mixture with the crustless sandwich bread slices, leaving a small space between them.
  • Mix the melted butter with a little oregano.
  • Using a pastry brush, spread the seasoned butter over all the bread slices.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes, until golden and set.
  • Remove from the oven, cut into portions and serve hot.

Notas

Use a well-buttered baking dish to prevent the filling from sticking. Mix the cream cheese spread well into the eggs to make the base creamy and even. Crustless sandwich bread gives a more delicate finish, but regular bread can also be used. Brush the oregano butter over all the slices to ensure a golden, crispy surface. Serve hot to enjoy the melted cheese.
