  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce for the chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt for the chicken
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced for the chicken
  • oil for sautéing
  • drizzle of honey for the chicken
  • 1/2 chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 onion cut into half-moons
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt for the rice
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce for the rice
  • drops of lemon juice
  • drizzle of honey for the rice
  • fresh parsley and green onion to taste

Modo de preparo
 

  • Place the cut chicken breasts in a bowl.
  • Season the chicken with soy sauce, salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper and the juice of half a lemon.
  • Mix well to coat all chicken pieces with the seasonings.
  • Heat a skillet with a little oil and add the seasoned chicken.
  • Stir until the chicken releases all its liquid, starts to fry and is almost cooked through.
  • Add a drizzle of honey to the chicken and mix to give it shine and a special flavor.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the chopped bell pepper and the onion cut into half-moons.
  • Sauté well to use the flavor left by the chicken in the pan.
  • Add the salt, cooked rice, soy sauce, a few drops of lemon juice and a drizzle of honey.
  • Mix well until the rice is hot and seasoned.
  • Return the reserved chicken to the skillet and add fresh parsley and green onion to taste.
  • Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  • Turn off the heat, transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot.

Notas

Use already cooked rice, preferably cold, so it stays looser when sautéed. Let the chicken release its liquid and start frying before adding the honey, as this improves both flavor and texture. Adjust the lemon and soy sauce carefully because both affect the saltiness of the dish.
