
Skillet Stuffed Potato with Ham and Cheese
This skillet stuffed potato is a different, practical and very delicious recipe. The dough is made with cooked and mashed potatoes, seasoned with salt, black pepper and fresh herbs, then filled with ham, cheese, cream cheese and oregano. Cooked in a buttered skillet, it turns golden on the outside, creamy inside and full of savory filling.

- pot For cooking the potatoes.
- potato masher For mashing the cooked potatoes.
- bowl For mixing the potato dough and filling.
- spoon For mixing and spreading the dough in the skillet.
- Skillets For browning the potato on both sides and making flipping easier.
- spatula For helping release and flip the stuffed potato.
- plate For serving the finished potato.
Ingredients
- 4 cooked and peeled potatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- fresh herbs to taste
- 150 g ham cut into small cubes
- 150 g cheese cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- oregano to taste
- butter for greasing the skillets
Instructions
- Cook the potatoes, peel them and mash very well.
- Season the mashed potatoes with salt, black pepper and fresh herbs to taste.
- Mix very well until you have a seasoned potato dough and set aside.
- In a bowl, add the cubed ham, cubed cheese, cream cheese and oregano.
- Mix very well until the filling is creamy and even.
- Grease a skillet with butter.
- Place part of the potato dough on the bottom of the skillet and spread with a spoon, also forming a border on the sides.
- Place the filling in the center of the potato dough.
- Cover with the remaining potato dough and press lightly to seal well, leaving no openings.
- Turn on medium heat and cook until the edges begin to release.
- Grease another skillet with butter and carefully flip the potato into it.
- Let the other side brown until firm and nicely colored.
- Transfer to a plate and serve hot.

Notes
Use well-cooked potatoes and mash them while still warm to make preparation easier. Since the potato mixture is soft, spread it with a spoon and seal all edges well so the cheese does not escape as it melts. Wait until the base releases from the edges before flipping to avoid breaking. Using a second buttered skillet makes flipping much safer. Serve hot to enjoy the creamy filling.
