  • frying pan or pot
  • slotted spoon

Ingredients

  • 5 units large onions
  • all-purpose flour, enough for coating
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • Slice the onions into very thin rings.
  • Separate the onion layers so they do not stick together.
  • Place the onion slices in a bowl with flour and mix well to coat them.
  • Transfer to another bowl and shake to remove excess flour.
  • Heat oil in a pan or deep skillet.
  • Add the onions to the hot oil and spread them out so they fry evenly.
  • Cook until the onions turn golden and crispy.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and place in a bowl or on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Let cool slightly and serve crispy.

Notes

The thinner the onion slices, the crispier they will become. Serve as a snack or use as a topping for burgers, rice, salads, or meats.
