
Crispy Fried Onions
Thinly sliced onions coated in flour and fried until golden, dry, and perfectly crispy. A simple and delicious snack or topping for many dishes.

- mixing bowl
- frying pan or pot
- slotted spoon
Ingredients
- 5 units large onions
- all-purpose flour, enough for coating
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the onions into very thin rings.
- Separate the onion layers so they do not stick together.
- Place the onion slices in a bowl with flour and mix well to coat them.
- Transfer to another bowl and shake to remove excess flour.
- Heat oil in a pan or deep skillet.
- Add the onions to the hot oil and spread them out so they fry evenly.
- Cook until the onions turn golden and crispy.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and place in a bowl or on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Let cool slightly and serve crispy.
Notes
The thinner the onion slices, the crispier they will become. Serve as a snack or use as a topping for burgers, rice, salads, or meats.
