Tender Beef with Milk, Bell Peppers and Soy Sauce

This tender beef with milk, bell peppers and soy sauce is a practical and very flavorful recipe for lunch. The beef rests in milk to become more tender, then is coated in a seasoned sauce with garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, paprika, ground coriander, oregano and black pepper. Finished in a skillet with colorful bell peppers, onion, tomato sauce and fresh herbs, it becomes juicy, well seasoned and covered in a delicious sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g beef cut into pieces
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • oil for searing the beef
  • 1 yellow bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 onion cut into rings
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • fresh herbs to taste

Instructions
 

  • Place the beef in a bowl and add the milk.
  • Mix well and let the beef rest for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in another bowl, add the ground coriander, black pepper, paprika and oregano.
  • Add the chopped garlic, vinegar and soy sauce.
  • Mix very well to make the seasoning sauce and set aside.
  • After resting, place the beef in a sieve and drain the milk well.
  • Transfer the drained beef to the bowl with the seasoning sauce.
  • Mix until the beef is well coated with the seasoning.
  • Add the salt and mix again.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and add the seasoned beef.
  • Let it brown a little before stirring so it sears well.
  • Stir and continue cooking until the beef releases liquid and then becomes drier.
  • Add the yellow, green and red bell peppers, onion, tomato sauce and water.
  • Mix all the ingredients very well.
  • Cover the skillet and cook for 10 minutes, until a flavorful sauce forms.
  • Turn off the heat and finish with fresh herbs to taste.
  • Transfer to a plate and serve hot.

Notes

Let the beef rest in the milk for the indicated time to help with tenderness. Then drain it well before mixing with the seasoning so the beef sears better in the skillet. Let it brown a little before stirring, as this helps build flavor. The bell peppers can stay slightly crisp or become softer depending on the cooking time. Serve hot with rice, potatoes or salad.
