One-Pot Tuna Pasta with Cheese

This one-pot tuna pasta with cheese is a quick, practical and very flavorful recipe for lunch or dinner. The pasta cooks together with tomato, green bell pepper, onion, garlic, tomato sauce and simple seasonings, absorbing plenty of flavor. At the end, tuna and shredded mozzarella are added, making the dish creamy, complete and perfect for busy days.

Equipment

  • Large pan For cooking the pasta and preparing the whole recipe in one pan.
  • knife For chopping the tomato, bell pepper, onion and garlic.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g pasta
  • 1 tomato chopped into large pieces
  • 1 chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 340 g tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • water as needed to cook the pasta
  • 2 cans drained tuna
  • 200 g shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Place the pasta in a large pan and arrange it well on the bottom.
  • Add the chopped tomato, green bell pepper and chopped onion.
  • Add the tomato sauce over the ingredients.
  • Add the chopped garlic, salt, black pepper and oil.
  • Add enough water to cook the pasta.
  • Turn on the heat and bring to a boil.
  • During cooking, use a fork to loosen the pasta little by little and prevent it from sticking.
  • Cook until the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens.
  • Add the drained tuna to the cooked pasta.
  • Mix well to distribute the tuna throughout the pasta.
  • Spread the shredded mozzarella over the pasta.
  • Cover the pan for a few minutes, until the cheese melts.
  • Turn off the heat and mix again to incorporate the cheese into the pasta.
  • Serve hot immediately.

Notes

Loosen the pasta with a fork during cooking to prevent the strands from sticking. Add water gradually, just enough to cook the pasta and create a thick sauce. The tuna should be added when the pasta is already cooked to keep a better texture. The mozzarella can be adjusted to taste and should melt with the pan covered. Serve hot to enjoy the cheese while creamy.
