Ground Beef and Grated Potato Patties

Emanoel Leonardo
These ground beef and grated potato patties are an economical, tasty recipe that makes a generous amount using only a small quantity of ground beef. The mixture combines beef, squeezed grated potato, egg, onion, breadcrumbs and seasonings such as salt, paprika, black pepper and chimichurri. Once shaped and fried until golden, the patties become crisp on the outside, cooked inside and can be served as an appetizer or a meal.

Notes

Grate the potato on the fine side of the grater and squeeze it well to remove excess water, preventing the mixture from becoming too soft. The breadcrumbs help give structure to the patties, but the amount may vary slightly depending on the moisture of the potato and beef. Shape them slightly flat for more even frying. Fry in hot oil, but not excessively high heat, so they brown outside and cook well inside.
