These beef cubes with vegetables in soy sauce are a very flavorful, colorful recipe that is perfect for lunch or dinner. The beef is seasoned with garlic powder and soy sauce, fried until dry and browned, then combined with sautéed onion, carrot, broccoli, bell peppers and tomato. To finish, a mixture of water and cornstarch creates a glossy, slightly thick sauce full of flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g beef cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • oil for sautéing
  • 1 onion cut into thin half-moons
  • 1 carrot cut into sticks
  • 1 whole broccoli separated into pieces
  • 1 chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped yellow bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Place the beef cubes in a bowl.
  • Season with garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.
  • Mix very well so the seasoning coats all the beef pieces.
  • Heat a skillet with a little oil and fry the beef until it becomes dry and well browned.
  • Remove all the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the onion cut into thin half-moons and sauté well.
  • Remove the sautéed onion and set aside.
  • Add the carrot, broccoli, green bell pepper, tomato and yellow bell pepper to the skillet.
  • Sauté everything well until the vegetables are cooked but still have good texture.
  • Season the vegetables with salt, black pepper, chopped garlic and 2 more tablespoons of soy sauce.
  • Mix well to distribute the seasonings.
  • Return the sautéed onion to the skillet, then add the reserved beef.
  • Mix everything very well to combine the beef with the vegetables.
  • In a small container, mix the water with the cornstarch until completely dissolved.
  • Pour the water and cornstarch mixture over the beef and vegetables.
  • Stir over low heat until a slightly thick and glossy sauce forms.
  • Turn off the heat and serve hot.

Notes

Cut the beef into small cubes so it cooks faster and stays tender. Fry the beef until the liquid dries well before removing it from the skillet, as this helps concentrate the flavor. The vegetables can remain slightly crisp for better texture. Dissolve the cornstarch completely in the water before adding it to prevent lumps in the sauce. Serve with white rice, brown rice or simple noodles.
