
Chicken Drumsticks with Honey Soy Sauce and Vegetables
These chicken drumsticks with honey soy sauce and vegetables are a flavorful, juicy recipe perfect for lunch or a family dinner. Ingredients
- 5 pieces chicken drumsticks
- salt to taste for seasoning the chicken
- black pepper to taste for seasoning the chicken
- oregano to taste for seasoning the chicken
- oil for frying the chicken
- 1 piece finely chopped onion
- 3 pieces chopped potatoes
- 1 piece carrot cut into slices
- salt to taste for seasoning the vegetables
- 3 cloves finely chopped garlic
- fresh herbs to taste
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 100 g tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 piece lemon juice
Instructions
- Season the chicken drumsticks with salt, black pepper and oregano to taste.
- Heat oil in a skillet and add the chicken drumsticks to fry.
- Turn the drumsticks and brown well on the other side.
- When well fried, remove the drumsticks from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the finely chopped onion, chopped potatoes and sliced carrot.
- Season the vegetables with a little salt and sauté well.
- Add the finely chopped garlic and fresh herbs to taste, mixing to sauté a little more.
- Place the reserved chicken drumsticks on top of the sautéed vegetables.
- In a bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, tomato sauce, mustard and juice of half a lemon.
- Cook the sauce over heat for 2 minutes, stirring to combine the flavors.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken drumsticks and vegetables.
- Transfer everything to a baking pan or baking dish, if needed, and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven when the chicken is fully baked, golden and the vegetables are tender.
- Serve the chicken hot with the vegetables and sauce on top.

Brown the chicken drumsticks well before baking to add more flavor and a beautiful texture. Use the same skillet to sauté the vegetables, as it keeps the flavor left by the chicken. Cut the potatoes into medium pieces so they cook properly in the oven. The honey soy sauce should be cooked briefly before pouring over the chicken, just to bring the flavors together. Serve hot with white rice or salad.
