Skillet Lasagna with Ground Beef

This skillet lasagna is a practical, quick and very flavorful lunch option. The ground beef is cooked and seasoned with salt, paprika, black pepper, oregano and ground coriander, then combined with tomato sauce, water and lasagna noodles that cook directly in the skillet. Ham and melted mozzarella finish the dish with a creamy, delicious topping.

Equipment

  • Large skillet with lid For preparing the whole lasagna on the stovetop.
  • spoon or spatula For stirring the beef, sauce and settling the pasta.
  • knife For chopping the ham if needed.
  • cutting board For preparing the ingredients.
  • Measuring cup For measuring the water.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 300 g tomato sauce
  • 150 ml water
  • lasagna noodles to taste
  • chopped ham to taste
  • mozzarella cheese to taste

Instructions
 

  • Place the ground beef in a large skillet and turn on the heat.
  • Stir the beef until it releases liquid, then let it cook until dry.
  • Season with salt, paprika, black pepper, oregano and ground coriander.
  • Mix well to spread all the seasonings through the beef.
  • Add the tomato sauce and water, mixing until a meat sauce forms.
  • Place the lasagna noodles over the sauce, breaking pieces if needed to fit the skillet.
  • Press the noodles lightly into the sauce to help them cook.
  • Cover the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes, until the pasta is tender.
  • Remove the lid and check that the pasta is fully cooked.
  • Spread the chopped ham over the lasagna.
  • Cover with mozzarella cheese to taste.
  • Cover again and keep on low heat until the cheese melts.
  • Turn off the heat, scoop out a portion with a spoon and serve hot.

Notes

Let the ground beef dry well before seasoning so the sauce becomes richer. Break the lasagna noodles if needed to fit them better in the skillet. Press the noodles lightly into the sauce so they cook evenly. If the liquid dries before the pasta is tender, add a little more hot water. Use low heat after adding the cheese so it melts without burning the bottom.
