
Homemade Chicken Nuggets
These homemade chicken nuggets are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and perfect to serve as a snack, appetizer or quick meal. The mixture is made with blended bread, chicken breast, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika and soy sauce, all processed until firm. Then the nuggets are shaped, coated in eggs with milk and breadcrumbs, and fried until golden and delicious.
Equipment
- food processor For blending the bread and chicken with the seasonings.
- knife For removing the bread crusts and cutting the nuggets.
- cutting board For spreading, shaping and cutting the mixture.
- Bowls For the egg mixture and breadcrumbs.
- fork or whisk For mixing the eggs with milk and seasonings.
- skillet For frying the nuggets.
- Spatula or tongs For turning and removing the nuggets from the oil.
- plate For serving the finished nuggets.
Ingredients
- 4 slices crustless sandwich bread
- 2 cut chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt for seasoning the chicken
- 1 teaspoon black pepper for seasoning the chicken
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 drizzle oil for the mixture
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch salt for coating
- 1 pinch black pepper for coating
- 3 tablespoons milk
- breadcrumbs for coating
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Remove the crusts from the slices of sandwich bread.
- Place the bread in the food processor, close it and blend well.
- Add the cut chicken breasts to the food processor.
- Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, soy sauce and chopped garlic.
- Process everything again until the chicken is well ground and a smooth mixture forms.
- Transfer the mixture to a cutting board and add just a drizzle of oil on top.
- Mix, spread and shape the mixture into a rectangle or even layer.
- Cut the mixture into smaller pieces, forming the nuggets.
- In a bowl, mix the eggs, a pinch of salt, a pinch of black pepper and the milk.
- Place the breadcrumbs in another bowl.
- Dip each nugget first in the egg mixture and then in the breadcrumbs, coating well.
- Heat oil in a skillet and carefully add the nuggets.
- Fry until golden on one side, then turn and brown the other side as well.
- Remove the nuggets, place on a plate and serve hot with ketchup or your favorite sauce.

Notes
Removing the bread crusts helps make the mixture more even. If the mixture is too soft, refrigerate it for a few minutes before cutting and shaping. The drizzle of oil helps improve the texture, but use only a little so the mixture does not become heavy. Fry in hot oil, but not too high, so the nuggets cook inside and brown outside. Serve with ketchup, seasoned mayonnaise, barbecue sauce or any sauce you like.
